Ricoh’s Pro C9110 Series Wins BLI Award

Ricoh has been at the forefront of MFP technology for many years now and the company is continuously trying to push the boundaries and provide devices that improve reliability, help businesses work more productively and reduce the impact our technology has on the environment. Their Pro C9110 series has just been given the 2016 Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI) PRO award for its consistently high end performance.

Their digital colour production press found in the C9110 was put through stringent testing by the BLI and managed to achieve an unprecedented five star rating (the only system to do so since production testing by the BLI began). The BLI’s award is only given to the most outstanding performers and the Ricoh C9110 series achieved it in the category for mid to high volume colour production devices. The BLI noted:

  • The range showed significant speed advantages across the entire media range compared to all its competitors.
  • The range was able to support media weights up to 400gsm, including providing high quality duplexing with reduction in performance.
  • The Pro C9110 series offered what the BLI called exceptional media handling, including more than double the maximum paper capacity of most rival units, allowing for longer unattended runs.
  • The Pro C9110 lead its class in the array of inline finishing options including provision of a perfect binder, high capacity stacker, full bleed square-edge booklet maker and inline ring bindery.
  • Not only that, the Ricoh series presented an impressive colour consistency, with no colours shifting by more than Delta E 3.3 over the course of a 1,000 page print run on both coated and uncoated media.
  • Finally, compared with its competitors, the C9110 series provided excellent fine detail reproduction in full colour output, especially in light contrast areas, and very good depth of field. The Pro C9110 series presents Ricoh’s best performing sheet-fed device so far and the fact that it can maintain the stated 130 ppm speed when dealing with papers up to 400 gsm obviously impressed the testing panel. It led the BLI’s director of research and lab services, David Sweetnam, to comment that the Ricoh series: “leaves clear blue sky between this model and its closest rivals and brings it into new territory where it can now compete in some workflows against significantly higher priced production devices.”  The award provides Ricoh with confirmation that their Pro C9110 series is the perfect choice for businesses of all types and sizes and provides the capability and performance that many are looking for. Offering exceptional productivity combined with high quality media handling means that new benchmarks have been set that others will need to follow in the future if they are to compete in the market.

According to BLI’s senior analyst, Ian Latham the Pro C9110 series: “is certainly going to be a very attractive proposition for many commercial print and CRD environments.”
